Real estate is the largest asset class in the world. It is a $217 trillion industry that touches everyone's life in some way. As property investors, we have access to this huge market, but unfortunately, it can be very difficult to navigate.
There are many different types of real estate: buying-selling of property, leasing of property, renting of property and joint ventures.
Buying-Selling Property
Buying-selling property is when you purchase real estate as an investment or for personal use. This can include single family homes, multi-family buildings and even commercial properties like strip malls and office buildings.
Leasing Property
Leasing property involves renting out your investment properties to tenants on a long term basis (usually one year or more). Most landlords prefer to lease their properties because it allows them to collect rent each month without having to worry about repairs or maintenance costs associated with owning a home for sale.
Renting Property
Renting property involves leasing out your personal home on a short term basis (usually less than one year). The most common example of this type of rental is an Airbnb listing where you can rent out your home while you're on vacation or away from town for work reasons."
